- -data at 300 GeV Ic and 147 GeVIc will allow an energy dependant study of the leading particle cross s ctlon. This should be of great interest as it Is conjectured that the rise in the total cross section may be due to the rise of the diffractive component. We should be able to shed some light on this question and determine which topology is responsible (if there is a single topology\) for. i I the rise in the cross section.
