KTeV Collaboration
Measures the direct CP violation parameter Re(epsilon'/epsilon) to the precision of 10**(-4). The new neutral kaon beam facility, KTeV, is constructed to give five times more flux, with reduced muon background and accidental rate. The apparatus gives twice as long a decay region, higher rate capability, and more hermetic photon veto coverage against the 3-pi0 background. The position and energy resolution of the electromagnetic calorimeter (CsI) for electron and photon are improved. Uses a beryllium target. Taking data (July 96).
