The successful candidate will be expected to have a demonstrated record of research in the broad area of phenomenological particle physics, including applications of particle physics to cosmology and astro-particle physics, and have a strong commitment to teaching at all levels. The ideal candidate will overlap with as well as bring a new direction to the current activities in the high energy theory group that include: neutrino physics and astrophysics, physics beyond the Standard Model, dark matter physics, flavour physics and CP violation, and inflationary cosmology. The experimental high energy physics activities at the University of Hawaii presently include studies of CP violation in heavy quark decays, neutrino physics and astrophysics, radio detection of high energy particles, direct dark matter detection, Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer, and electron positron physics in the tau/charm threshold energy region.

Minimum Qualifications:
Assistant Professor - Ph.D. in physics or equivalent; interest and ability for teaching a broad range of physics courses at the graduate and undergraduate level; demonstrated scholarly achievement in forefront areas of elementary particle theory research.
Associate Professor - in addition to the qualifications for Assistant Professor, a minimum of four years experience at the assistant professor level, or equivalent, is required.

Desirable Qualifications: At least three years of post-doctoral experience in elementary particle theory at the time of application, demonstrated record of an independent research program in theoretical particle physics, demonstrated ability to supervise graduate student research.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Applications should include a letter of interest, a curriculum vitae including a complete list of scientific publications, a research plan that includes how the candidate envisions integrating with the current research activities in the Department, along with a statement of past instructional activities and experience.
