Abstract: (Elsevier)
Predictions for the double differential cross section d 2 σ /d t d( M 2 / s ) for the fragmentation process p p → Δ ++ based on the single-Regge limit of the Mueller-Regge theory are examined at an incident beam momentum of 9.1 GeV/ c . Allowing for the important influence of kinematic effects the theory appears to be reasonably successful. The assumption that the annihilation process is responsible for the failure of similar predictions in the case of fragmentation to pions, p p → π − , is thereby supported.- ANTI-P P: INCLUSIVE REACTION
