Job description:

The Board of Electors to the Lucasian Professorship of Mathematics invite applications for this Professorship to take up appointment on 1 September 2014, or as soon as possible thereafter, from persons whose work falls in the general fields of applied mathematics and theoretical physics.

Candidates will have an outstanding international reputation in their field of research and will be expected to provide strong academic leadership in research, teaching and other activities of the Department. They will hold a PhD or equivalent postgraduate qualification.

Standard professorial duties include teaching and research, examining, supervision of graduate students and administration. The Professor will be based in Cambridge. A competitive salary will be offered.
