Abstract:
The inclusive jet transverse momentum (pTp_T) spectra at mid- and forward pseudorapidities are presented for pPb collisions at sNN= \sqrt{s_{NN}} =~5.02 TeV. The data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35 nb1 ~\mathrm{nb}^{-1}~ was collected with the CMS detector at the LHC. To evaluate the nuclear effects in jet production the nuclear modification factor RpPbR_{pPb} is studied in several pseudorapidity bins by dividing the pPb jet spectra measured at sNN = \sqrt{s_{NN}}~ =~5.02 TeV by pp reference spectra obtained by extrapolation based on CMS measurements in pp collisions at s=7 \sqrt{s}=7~TeV. A moderate enhancement is observed in RpPbR_{pPb} at low pTp_T in all the η\eta ranges. To quantify the η\eta dependence of jet production, the ratio of inclusive jet yields between equivalent backward and forward center-of-mass pseudorapidity ranges are presented as a function of jet pTp_T. No significant asymmetry is observed within the measured pseudorapidity range.
