Abstract:
Z boson production in association with jets is studied using a sample of proton-proton collisions data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC at s=8\sqrt{s}=8 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.619.6 fb1^{-1}. Z bosons are identified via their decays to μ+μ\mu^+\mu^- pairs. Jets are reconstructed in an extended rapidity region, y<4.7|y| < 4.7. The double differential cross section with respect to transverse momentum and the rapidity of the highest pTp_{T} jet, d2σ/dpTjdyjd^2\sigma/dp_{T}^jdy^j is measured. The measurements are compared to the predictions of Monte Carlo generators.
