Abstract:
A search for lepton flavor violation in Z boson decays to one electron and one muon is performed. The data sample of proton-proton collisions at s=8\sqrt{s}=8 TeV collected by the CMS detector corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb119.7~\text{fb}^{-1}. An observed (expected) limit on the branching fraction of B(Zeμ)<7.3107\mathcal{B}\left(\mathrm{Z}\rightarrow\mathrm{e}\mu\right) < 7.3\cdot 10^{-7} (6.71076.7\cdot 10^{-7}) at 95%95\% CL is obtained.
