Job description:
The Columbia University Department of Physics seeks to appoint two assistant professors whose research is in one of the following areas: high energy experiment, nuclear experiment, astrophysics theory and high energy theory. Appointments begin on July 1, 2016. It is expected that the candidate will develop a vigorous independent research program, continuing the long Columbia record of forefront accomplishment in science. Applicants for this position must possess a doctoral degree in Physics or a related field and have demonstrated the ability to do pioneering research as well as the promise of excellence in teaching and mentoring at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Candidates must submit with their application a cover letter, Curriculum Vitae (including publication list), brief statements of their research plans (no more than 3 pages plus references) and teaching philosophy and a list of references.
