Job description:
Applications are invited for post-doctoral positions in Argonne National Laboratory's High Energy Physics Division. Selected applicants may also be sponsored for Mayer and Fermi Fellowships. Cosmological research at Argonne covers experiment, observations, and theory, targeted at dark energy, dark matter, inflation, and neutrinos. The observational effort focuses on mapping the CMB with the South Pole Telescope and participating in optical sky surveys (DES, DESI, LSST). Theory, modeling, and analysis efforts emphasize multi-wavelength survey science, cluster cosmology, and large-scale cosmological simulations. Staff members include Amy
Bender, Lindsey Bleem, Karen Byrum, John Carlstrom, Clarence Chang, Hal Finkel, Salman Habib, Katrin Heitmann, Eve Kovacs, Steve Kuhlmann, Adrian Pope, Hal Spinka, and Gensheng Wang. Current postdocs are
Sebastian Bocquet, Faustin Carter, JD Emberson, Samuel Flender, Nan Li, and Vinu Vikraman; the effort includes a number of graduate and undergraduate students. Interactions with groups at Fermilab, the
University of Chicago, and Northwestern University are highly encouraged. Access to world-leading supercomputing resources will be available. Instrumentation-focused oppportunities exist in experiment operations and technology development, the latter in close collaboration with the Materials Science Division and the Center for Nanoscale Materials.

Applicants should send 1) a CV, 2) a brief statement of research interests, and 3) arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent to cosmojobs@anl.gov as soon as possible. Non-email correspondence should be sent to Salman Habib, HEP Division, Argonne National Laboratory, 9700 South Cass Avenue, Bldg. 360, Argonne, IL 60439.

A Ph.D. is required but must not have been obtained prior to 2014.
