Job description:
The ICTP South American Institute for Fundamental Research (ICTP-SAIFR, www.ictp-saifr.org) announces the opening of postdoctoral positions in 2017 in the areas of observational and theoretical cosmology (with emphasis on early universe, large scale structure, dark energy and gravitational waves). The postdoctoral fellowships are for two years, with possible extension for up to four years. In addition to a competitive salary and travel budget, postdocs will have access to the many collaborative agreements between ICTP-SAIFR and other international institution (such as CERN and Perimeter Institute), and will receive funds to invite collaborators and organize activities.    ICTP-SAIFR associated researchers in these areas include: Rafael Porto (ICTP-SAIFR/IFT-UNESP), Rogerio Rosenfeld (ICTP-SAIFR/IFT-UNESP), Raul Abramo (IF-USP), Marcos Lima (IF-USP), and Riccardo Sturani (Natal). We participate in eBOSS, DES, SuMIRe/PFS and J-PAS, and discussions are ongoing to join DESI, LSST and Euclid, in the near future. We are also members of the LIGO scientific collaboration through the Natal group.    Review of applications will begin in January 2017 and will continue until all the positions are filled. Applications before December 15, 2016 are strongly recommended for positions to begin in 2017. Candidates can apply online at  http://www.ictp-saifr.org/postdoc.
