Deadline on Sep 1, 2017
Job description:

The Experimental High Energy group at Stony Brook University has two openings for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work on the ATLAS experiment, with emphasis on physics measurements and searches with Higgs bosons decaying to fermions and EWK symmetry breaking measurements, and on the ITK Tracker upgrade planned for the High Luminosity phase of LHC, working on testing and commissioning of the new strip detector and/or carrying out physics performance studies/developing new reconstruction software.

Required qualifications: PhD degree in High Energy Physics in hand by December 31, 2017. Extensive experience in the analysis of data from high energy particle collisions.

Preferred qualifications: Experience with tracking and/or b/tau-tagging related algorithms and performance tools or experience in particle detector development, electronics, and data acquisition. Further, the candidate should be familiar with particle detector simulation programs for the study of implications on physics performance.

The position is a term position supported by research funds and the continued support will be dependent on the renewal of those funds.

The position is available starting from September, 2017. The review of applicants will begin on August 1, 2017 and will continue until the position is filled.
