Position Description
The High Energy Physics Division at the Argonne National Laboratory has a postdoctoral opening in the Intensity Frontier Group, focusing on precision muon physics.
The Division performs cutting-edge research facilitated through advanced detector development, high-performance supercomputing (HPC), a superconducting test magnet facility and innovative electronic and mechanical engineering. The successful candidate will majorly contribute to the development of improved calibration and analysis techniques and take a lead in the data analysis for the Muon g-2 experiment. Participation in the ongoing data taking at Fermilab will allow the successful candidate to take an active role in the experiment and interact with the entire collaboration.

Position Requirements
- Applicants must have recently received a Ph.D. in Physics or Astronomy.
- Considerable analytical skills are necessary to develop and improve techniques for the data analysis.
- Knowledge of modern software environments and ability to use programming languages for data analysis or for modeling system performance.
- Work effectively as part of a team.
- Demonstration of problem solving skills and effective trouble-shooting ability.
- Ability to produce scientific reports and to present ideas and proposals to scientists and engineers. Proficiency with written communication and oral presentations.
- Hardware experience with detector systems, electronics, and NMR systems is desirable.
