IRIS-HEP is a new institute, formed as a collaboration between 17 universities, which was recently launched by the NSF to address the challenges posed by the extreme high-luminosity (HL) LHC environment. This will be performed within the context of A Common Track Software (ACTS) project, which is a project to develop a set detector-independent track reconstruction tools based on the track reconstruction tools used by the ATLAS experiment. The postdoctoral scholar will work with Dr. Heather Gray and the other members of the Berkeley/LBNL ATLAS group.

The chosen candidate will develop track reconstruction algorithms for the HL-LHC within the ACTS project, commission track reconstructions with ACTS in ATLAS, collaborate with members of IRIS-HEP and ATLAS, prepare research papers for publication, and present research findings at seminars, conferences.
