Job description:
The Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship position in experimental particle physics with the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider.
IHEP is a national lab and the premier high-energy physics center in China. IHEP participates in the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the Large Hadron Collider and leads the Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC) project (http://cepc.ihep.ac.cn/). The institute hosts a Tier-2 Grid site and provides excellent computing resources and support to researchers.
The successful applicant will be based at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland with some visits to IHEP, Beijing. A Ph.D. in experimental high energy particle physics and experience with physics analysis and detector performance study is required. The successful candidate will be expected to play an important role in the analyses of the Higgs/BSM physics. The candidate is also expected to participate in the detector operation. The appointment will be for a period of two years with a possible extension of another year. The salary will be competitive and will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience. The additional compensation for the relocation at CERN will be 2000 CHF/month.
The applications will be considered as soon as they are received and the position will remain open until it is filled. The interested candidates should send the curriculum vitae, a statement of research interests, a list of publications and arrange three letters of recommendation to be sent directly to
Professor Yaquan Fang (fangyq@ihep.ac.cn) and Professor Xinchou Lou (xinchou@ihep.ac.cn))
