Job description:
The Particle Physics Division of Tsung-Dao Lee Institute (TDLI) in Shanghai, China (http://tdli.sjtu.edu.cn) invites applications for the T. D. Lee Postdoctoral Research Fellow positions in the areas of Theoretical Particle Physics, Astroparticle Physics, and Cosmology. (The particle theory area includes both particle phenomenology and formal theory.)

We welcome highly motivated applicants who have recently obtained a Ph.D. degree or expecting one prior to starting the position. The initial appointment is for 2 years with possible extension for the third year. TDLI offers competitive salary (comparable to the same level positions in USA) commensurate with qualifications, as well as research fund (including international conference travel).

The Particle Physics Division has research groups working at frontiers in both theoretical and experimental particle physics, astroparticle physics, and cosmology. It includes the Theory Group, the Underground Experimental Group, the Collider Experimental Group. The experimental groups work on Dark Matter Searches (PandaX), Neutrino Physics (Daya Bay, JUNO, PandaX-III for neutrinoless double beta decay, and IceCube), Collider Physics (LHC, CEPC and ILC). The PandaX Collaboration has achieved the world records in dark matter direct searches and has its headquarter based at TDLI & SJTU (Shanghai Jiao Tong University).

The Particle Theory Group has broad research interest in frontiers of the particle physics and related. The current theory members include Hong-Jian He, Xiao-Gang He, Xiangdong Ji, and Frank Wilczek, as well as the distinguished visiting fellows John Ellis (King's College & CERN) and Luciano Maiani (Rome Univ & CERN). It is expected that two full-time senior faculties and at least four full-time junior faculties from oversea will join our Particle Theory Group in 2019. We also benefit from collaborations with the School of Physics and Astronomy at SJTU. Our division has an active Visiting Program and has funding to run international workshops and conferences each year. Currently we have about 15 postdocs & students and are expecting more for the coming year.

TDLI is a high-profile international research institution initiated by Professor Tsung-Dao Lee (Nobel Prize in Physics 1957) and currently led by its founding director Professor Frank Wilczek (Nobel Prize in Physics 2004). The Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) is the contractor and trustee of TDLI and is in charge of the current operation of TDLI. TDLI is newly founded in 2017 and aims at the cutting-edge research on most fundamental questions in particle physics, cosmology and quantum physics. TDLI has an internationalized environment with English as its working language, and invites candidates of all nationalities over the world.

The review process will start on December 15, 2018, and last until the positions are filled.

Interested candidates should provide a CV with a list of publications, a statement of research interests and achievements, and at least three supporting letters. These files must be submitted online via Academic Job Online: https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/12689), but not by email.
