The department SUBATECH of Institut Mines-Telecom Atlantique (CNRS-IN2P3/IMT Atlantique/Nantes University) is recruiting an associate professor in Experimental High Energy Physics in 2019.
The Department SUBATECH (and laboratory of the same name) is based at Nantes,France. It consists of about 190 people including 34 permanent research professors and 20 permanent researchers, 16 postdocs and 36 PhD students.
The research activity will be carried within the PLASMA team, on the topic of experimental study of Quark and Gluon Plasma in ultra-relativistic heavy ion collisions with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The successful candidate will have a leading role in the implementation of the new tracker based on MAPS pixel silicon sensors (MFT) for ALICE and in physics analyses of LHC runs 3 and 4, especially in the heavy flavor sector. The candidate will contribute to the development of new detection technics and methods of analysis and especially by the use of the new sensors developed for the MFT and ITS of the ALICE detector.
The teaching activity will be held within the pedagogical teams of the generalist main course of
the engineer training as well as in the Masters in which SUBATECH is involved.
