We report a new measurement of the branching ratio for the decay τ − →e − v e v τ . The data were taken with the High Resolution Spectrometer at the PEP e + e − colliding beam facility operating at √ s = 29 GeV. The result is B(τ − →e − v = (17.0±0.5±0.6)% .
