Abstract (WSP)
It is shown that the standard SU(5) GUT survives all experimental constraints if one introduces a pair of leptoquark bosons at the Fermi scale ~ O(100) GeV. This model predicts τ(p→e+π0)=7×1029−7×1032 yr which is marginally allowed by the present proton decay experiments and lies in the range testable at the super-Kamiokande.
