Abstract:
The neural networks method has been applied to 75 pb1pb^{-1} of data collected by the D0 detector at Fermilab during the 1993-1995 ppp\overline{p} collider run at sqrtssqrt{s} = 1.8 TeV, to isolate the top quark in the e+jets+ ETE_T channel. It is shown that the neural networks method provides a higher signal-to-background result compared to conventional methods. The number of observed top events and the cross section are presented.
