The π N backward dispersion relations for even isospin ( I t = 0) are investigated with phase shifts and the baryon Regge-exchange model as input. The ππ N N cut contributions to the dispersion relations are then used to estimate in an ϵ(700) and f 0 (1260) exchange model the meson-nucleon coupling constants.
