NEMO.RD Collaboration
NEMO (NEutrino Mediterranean Observatory) is a project of the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare to design a km^3-scale Astrophysical Neutrino Observatory in the Mediterannean Sea both in the best possible site and with the most advanced marine technologies. The technique exploited is the detection of the Cherenkov light emitted by charged particles by an array of phototubes. The NEMO Collaboration has been funded to study the characteristics of some deep sites where the detector could be located and to develop technologies relevant for its design and optimization.
