BEPC-BES-II()
Measurement of the $\tau$ Lepton Mass With the Beijing Spectrometer (BES)
()
- Started: 1991,
- Still Running
Successor Experiment:
Predecessor Experiment:
BESII Collaboration
Uses non-collinear 2-prong e mu events with both e and mu identified. Measures the threshold behavior of the cross-section by scanning a very narrow range of c.m. energies between 3.544 and 3.569 GeV. The BES detector consists of a Muon Counter, TOF Counters, a Barrel Shower Counter and the main Drift Chamber. A major upgrade of the detector will be completed in the Fall 1996, and data-taking continued.
