POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS IN EXPERIMENTAL HIGH ENERGY PHYSICS

CMS Experiment

The experimental high energy physics group at Texas A&M University invites applications for postdoctoral research associate positions (we anticipate one or more positions) to work on the CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).

The TAMU CMS group, led by Profs. Ricardo Eusebi, Teruki Kamon, and Alexei Safonov, is actively engaged in physics analyses focusing on non-Standard Higgs, supersymmetry, and other cosmologically motivated scenarios of new physics, detector and electronics R&D, muon (CSC and GEM) and trigger upgrades, as well as detector operations (e.g. DAQ for GEM). Candidates should anticipate taking leading roles in physics analyses as well as detector upgrade R&D and/or operations and should expect a non-negligible amount of travel, including internationally. Primary locations for the positions can potentially include CERN, Texas A&M University, or Fermilab, and are negotiable depending on individual circumstances and specific projects; primary location may change over time as projects evolve.

Candidates must possess an earned Ph.D. in experimental particle physics or a related field and must have demonstrated abilities pertinent to the anticipated activities. While we anticipate successful candidates to join the group as soon as possible, the actual start date may be negotiable. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

To apply, upload a single pdf with cover letter, CV, publication list, and a brief statement of research interests (maximum five pages) at https://jobs.tamu.edu for posting R-030594 (Postdoctoral Research Associate).  As part of the application process, applicants will be asked to arrange at least three letters of reference through Xref; this will be initiated by the Department of Physics and Astronomy for every applicant.  For full consideration, applications must be received by October 2, 2020; however, applications will be considered until the positions are filled.

For more information contact any of PIs in the group: Prof. Eusebi (eusebi@tmu.edu), Prof. Safonov (safonov@tamu.edu) or/and Prof. Kamon (t-kamon@tamu.edu).
