Job description:
The particle and nuclear physics group at Fudan University invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate to work on CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.

Fudan University is located in Shanghai, the largest metropolitan city in China. The particle and nuclear physics group consists of more than ten senior faculties and strong teams of postdocs and Ph.D. students, pursuing research in various projects such as CMS, Belle-II, BES-III, sPHENIX, STAR, ALICE, CUORE, dark matter experiments as well as phenomenological studies.

The candidate is expected to contribute to physics analyses to search for physics beyond the Standard Model in the Higgs/electroweak sectors, development of reconstruction algorithms such as jets and missing transverse momentum, and to the High Granularity Calorimeter (HGCAL) Phase-II upgrade for the High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider.

The candidate can be based at CERN (when COVID-19 restrictions are removed). Competitive international level salary will be supplied. Travel support and the cost of living allowance (when based at CERN) will be provided. Excellent candidates have opportunities to apply for the prestigious Chung-Yao Chao Postdoctoral Fellowship hosted by CAS Center for Excellence in Particle Physics as well as other fellowships such as Fudan University Super-Postdoc and Shanghai City Super-Postdoc. The initial appointment will be for two years and renewable based on mutual satisfaction and funding availability.

Eligible candidates should have a Ph.D. by the time of the appointment, either in experimental particle or nuclear physics.

Interested candidates should send their application materials (curriculum vitae, a brief description of research interest, a list of publications and three letters of recommendation) to Prof. Hideki Okawa (hideki.okawa@cern.ch). Please include “Fudan CMS postdoc application” in the e-mail subject.

For any inquiry, please also contact Prof. Okawa. (hideki.okawa@cern.ch)
