Job description:
We invite interested candidates that have already defended their PhD Thesis in experimental particle physics, to take an active role working in the ATLAS experiment with the High Energy Physics group of the University of Tarapaca in Arica, Chile. (https://www.uta.cl/ )
 
The High Energy Physics group at the University of Tarapaca is involved in the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider, the STAR experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider and the BESIII experiment at the Beijing Electron-Positron Collider BEPC II. The position will be based at least during 6 months in the University of Tarapaca in Chile. The other 6 months can include a stay abroad, as agreed.
 
Salary will be about 1845000 CLP per month; 11.5% is a typical amount expected to be paid to Chilean tax authorities. The salary is approximately double the cost of living in Chile, and public transportation is very good so that a personal car is not needed.
  
The topic of research can relate to search for new particles and new phenomena and will be discussed in the interview. Candidates are invited to propose their interests in research in the research statement (about 1 page max).
