Job description:
The Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, to start August 2022, in the field of Experimental Particle Collider Physics. 
 
Existing faculty in the department have an ongoing research program with the CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider, and the new position is intended to further expand this CMS program. 
Related research activities in the department include experimental searches for dark matter, neutrinoless double beta decay and magnetic monopoles, as well as research programs in experimental astroparticle physics and theoretical high-energy physics. The minimum qualifications for this position are a Ph.D. or equivalent, postdoctoral experience, and a record of scholarly publications commensurate with experience.
Candidates for this position are expected to have an outstanding research record and exhibit potential for effective teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate is expected to develop a high quality, externally funded research program, as well as teach and mentor at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
