Job description:
The High Energy Physics group at Peking University (PKU) invites applications for one or two postdoctoral researcher positions to work on the CMS experiment at the LHC. 

Peking University is a top university in China located in the capital city, Beijing. The PKU CMS group currently consists of seven professors, two engineers, four postdoctoral researchers, and around twenty graduate students. The group has been actively working on various physics topics, including multi-boson, VBS/VBF processes, Higgs boson, Dark Matter, and the B-physics sector. The group has been working on the GEM R&D project for the Phase-2 Upgrade of CMS since the beginning of the project and hosts a GEM detector production site.

The successful candidate is expected to play a prominent role in the areas of physics related to the Higgs boson (e.g. Higgs decays to muon pairs, double Higgs production, precision measurements of Higgs properties) and Dark Matter using machine learning techniques. The successful candidate will also have a chance to contribute to the muon detector upgrade including the local production at PKU and the commissioning/operation at CERN. 

Initial appointment will be for two years, renewable for a third year and beyond, subject to mutual satisfaction. It will start as soon as possible when the decision is made. A Ph.D. is required at the time of employment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be based at CERN.
