TU Dortmund University announces the opening of a postdoc (100%) position in experimental high-energy particle physics within the newly formed Emmy Noether research group of Dominik Mitzel, which is associated to the larger LHCb group of Johannes Albrecht and Bernhard Spaan at TU Dortmund University.

The successful candidate is expected to take a leading role in the analysis of rare charm decays at LHCb, make significant contributions to the Real Time Analysis Project and to the operation of the experiment. The candidate will also have the opportunity to work in close collaboration with the particle theory group of Gudrun Hiller at TU Dortmund University, which has expertise/interest in the field of rare b- and c-hadron decays.

The appointment is expected to start in April 2022 or soon after. The salary scale is based on TVL E13, with exact payment depending on previous experience. The appointment is initially for a period of two years, with the possibility to be extended by up to four more years. The successful candidate is expected to be based primarily at Dortmund, with the potential for extended stays at CERN. The position will involve travel to national and international destinations.
