Job description:
The experimental particle physics group at the University of Michigan invites applications for a postdoctoral research fellow position to work on the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. The Michigan ATLAS group is engaged in several physics analyses including Higgs, electroweak and searches for new phenomena, operation of the ATLAS Monitored Drift Tube (MDT) detector, the Phase-I commissioning and operation of the ATLAS New Small Wheel (NSW) detector, and the Phase-II upgrade with the MDT detector - including the construction of sMDT detectors and associated high-speed radiation hard front-end electronics..

The successful candidate is expected to make significant contributions to the group’s physics analyses, as well as ATLAS hardware efforts. The successful candidate is expected to be in residence at CERN or Ann Arbor. The start date can be mutually negotiated and can be as early as June 1, 2023 or as late as the Fall of 2023. A PhD degree in experimental particle physics is required at the time the position begins.
