The Institute of Physics and Astronomy at Eötvös Loránd University invites applications for tenure-track assistant professor positions.  The duration of the contract is five years, with the possibility of granting tenure at the end of that period, depending on the performance of the applicant.  All research topics within particle physics and quantum field theory are welcome.  See http://physics.elte.hu for details on current research fields.

 

We are looking for candidates with strong track record in research, teaching and grant applications.  Candidates shall already have postdoctoral experience.  Teaching opportunities and duties will include physics courses at all levels (BSc, MSc, PhD).  The guaranteed gross salary is calculated according to Hungarian government regulations (currently 420,000 HUF) but will be substantially increased through various research grants.  For outstanding applicants who already have habilitation a quick promotion to associate professor level will be possible.
