Job description:
The Department of Physics at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) welcomes Expressions of Interest (EOI) from researchers of all branches of Physics (both theoretical and experimental) keen on establishing international scientific careers and creating dynamic research groups at IST. As a top-tier institution in Portugal and Europe, IST offers an excellent research environment with outstanding students, making it an ideal place for cutting-edge research.

This call aims to identify lines of research with significant growth potential for the Department of Physics. Based on the results, we will initiate international calls (Public Notice) to recruit Tenure-Track Professors within the coming year. Preference will be given to proposals at the Assistant Professor level.

We welcome researchers with exceptional CVs, demonstrated scientific leadership, and a strong scientific track record to apply. We are particularly interested in researchers who can demonstrate a successful history of obtaining grants, namely from funding organizations with international scope. Currently the scientific areas of the Department of Physics include Astrophysics and Gravitation, Condensed Matter Physics and Nanotechnology, Particle Physics and Nuclear Physics, and Physics of Plasmas, Lasers, and Nuclear Fusion.
