Job description:
The Experimental High-Energy Physics group at Northeastern University in Boston has an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at CERN.

The Northeastern Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) group has leading involvements in the operation and upgrade of the electromagnetic calorimeter, the endcap muon system, the Level-1 trigger, and the new MIP timing detector. Physics efforts include searches for phenomena beyond the standard model, di-Higgs boson studies, and precision electroweak and QCD measurements. The successful candidate will contribute to the operation and upgrade of the CMS electromagnetic calorimeter and will be expected to play a leading role in physics analysis using electromagnetic objects in the final state. The candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to the new CMS MIP timing detector upgrade. In addition, the candidate will have the opportunity to work with graduate students, as well as undergraduate coop students. Candidates should have a strong record of recent accomplishments in data analysis and in detector hardware or software. Preference is for the successful candidate to be based at CERN.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in experimental particle physics or equivalent by the time of the appointment is required; be able to undertake substantially full-time research or scholarship; work under the supervision of a senior scholar.

Candidates should have a strong record of recent accomplishments in data analysis and in detector hardware or software. For further details about the position, please contact Prof. Toyoko Orimoto (t.orimoto@northeastern.edu). Candidates should submit applications through the link provided. Candidates should provide a list of three references and their email addresses. Letters of reference should be emailed to t.orimoto@northeastern.edu.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
