Deadline on Dec 22, 2023
Job description:
Applications are invited for one or more postdoctoral research fellow positions in theoretical physics at the Asia Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics (APCTP), Pohang, South Korea. These positions will be part of the Junior Research Group "Scattering Amplitudes and Precision Collider Phenomenology" lead by Dr. Heribertus Bayu Hartanto.
APCTP (www.apctp.org), founded in 1996, is an international organization dedicated to excellence in research and the training of young scientists in the Asia-Pacific region. APCTP offers a unique research environment incorporating a large diversity of fields (particle physics, statistical physics, string theory, condensed matter, cosmology).
Successful applicants will be expected to carry out research in theoretical particle physics. Prior experience in multi-loop scattering amplitude/Feynman integral computation, higher-order (NLO/NNLO/N3LO) calculation or parton shower matching to higher-order computation is an advantage. A PhD in theoretical physics or a closely related field is required by the starting date of the position. We especially welcome applicants from historically underrepresented backgrounds.
The following documents should be submitted electronically to bayu.hartanto@apctp.org
- a cover letter
- a curriculum vitae
- a list of publications
- a statement of research interest (no more than 3 pages)
- at least two letters of recommendation arranged to be sent directly from your referees
NOTE: Documents 1 to 4 should be sent in a single PDF file.
The initial appointment is for one year, but can be extended for up to two additional years (contingent on funding and performance). These positions remain open until filled, but priority will be given to applications received by 22nd of December 2023. Candidates can start as early as Summer 2024 but no later than Fall 2024.
