Call of interest for Postdoctoral Research Associates.
We are looking for one or more outstanding and highly-motivated postdoctoral researchers to work in the area of theoretical astroparticle physics and particle phenomenology, beginning from fall 2024. The successful candidate will join the group of Prof. Andrea Caputo at Sapienza University in Rome, with the recently awarded ERC Starting Grant AstroDarkLS. The broad goal of the grant is to use stellar objects and other astrophysical and cosmological tools (such as 21 cm, CMB, Lyman-alpha, etc) to look for new light particles.
The appointment would be at first for two years, but a third year is foreseen, subject to mutual satisfaction. Remuneration is competitive by international standards, and candidates from abroad profit from a favourable fiscal regime. Furthermore, a generous travel budget will be granted. For interested candidates, extended visiting periods at collaborating institutions are encouraged, such as at the Max Planck Institutes in Garching, Tel Aviv University, the Center for Computational Astrophysics (CCA) in New York, New York University, CERN-TH.
Applications should include a CV, research statement, and list of publications. Applicants should arrange for three letters of recommendation to be submitted.
The Department of Physics at Sapienza hosts renowned research groups in several areas of physics and is regularly included among the first 40 Physics and Astronomy institutes in the world according to various rankings. Staff members in the relevant groups at Sapienza currently include Dr. Angelo Esposito, Prof. Roberto Contino, Prof. Marco Nardecchia, Prof. Paolo Pani, Prof. Antonello Polosa, Prof. Alfredo Urbano, Dr. Mauro Valli.
