Job description:
The Neutrino and Nucleon decay (NN) group at Stony Brook has an opening for tenure track assistant professor position. Qualified candidates are invited to
apply.
The NN group has participated in the Super-Kamiokande (SK), K2K and T2K experiments in Japan for more than three decades, and now deeply involved in the T2K ND280 Upgrade and DUNE. We are looking for an outstanding assistant professor candidate who will join us in our pursuit of new discoveries and breakthroughs. The successful applicant will perform research
on topics in Neutrino Physics. While the particular focus of the research will be up to the faculty member, the successful applicant will be expected to join and strengthen the Stony Brook NN group engaging in independently funded research characterized by creativity and vision.
The NN group enjoys a stimulating and cooperative research environment provided by the presence of other strong research groups working on high-energy collider experiments, particle theory (C.N. Yang ITP and Simons Center for Geometry and Physics (SCGP)), nuclear physics and nuclear astrophysics, and efforts on under-ice cosmic neutrinos and cosmology
.
The group also closely collaborates with the BNL group participating in neutrino experiments. Stony Brook University co-manages BNL which is located only 20 miles from the university.
