Job description:
THE GROUP AND THE INSTITUTE.
The Instituto de Física Corpuscular (IFIC) is a joint centre between the Spanish Research Council (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, CSIC) and the University of Valencia devoted to research in Nuclear, Particle and Astroparticle Physics and its applications to Medical Physics and to other fields of Science and Technology.
The interests of the AHEP theory group (https://www.astroparticles.es/) at IFIC (https://ific.uv.es/) include theoretical, phenomenological and observational aspects of Astroparticle and High Energy Physics. Its members have a long-standing tradition in neutrino physics in general, especially regarding new physics models, in global analyses of neutrino oscillation parameters and in the rôle of neutrinos in cosmology.

JOB DESCRIPTION.
The successful candidate will join the AHEP group at IFIC hired through the project “NEOCEvNS - Ayudas para Incentivar la Consolidación Investigadora 2023” of Dr. Valentina De Romeri.
The scientific focus of the position lies on studying theoretical and phenomenological aspects of neutrinos and of physics beyond the Standard Model, with special focus on the coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CEvNS) process.
Further possible research topics will include: new theory models explaining neutrinos and dark matter, neutrino oscillations, dark matter direct and indirect detection searches, neutrinos in cosmology.

REQUIREMENTS.
Applicants are required to have a PhD in theoretical physics, preferably with specialization in neutrino physics, and are expected to have a competitive research track record in theoretical particle physics.

OFFER DETAILS.
We offer 1 postdoctoral position. The successful candidate will be employed through CSIC.
The candidate will receive a (up-to) 2-year employment contract, depending on the exact starting date.
Possible extensions depending on funding will be considered with the candidate.
The gross salary will be ~37.000€/year, including social security.
The starting date of the appointment is expected to be around June 2024.
(Later starting dates might be contemplated in some specific cases.)

HOW TO APPLY.
Qualified applicants are required to send:
* Cover letter
* A curriculum vitae
* Research statement
* Publication list
* Three reference letters (by referees who are willing to send it on the candidate’s behalf)

Through AcademicJobsOnline at https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/26900

Applications received before the 10th of February 2024 will receive full consideration.

IFIC is an equal opportunity employer. IFIC is committed to increasing the diversity of its personnel and particularly welcomes applications from women, minorities, and persons with disabilities. Its parent organizations (UV and CSIC) have endorsed the European Charter for Researchers and the European Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers and follow the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R) for its proper implementation and follow-up. Both institutions have obtained the HR Excellence in Research Award from the European Commission.
