Job description:
The ATLAS group at the Laboratoire d’Annecy de Physique des Particules (LAPP) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher for a two-year position to contribute to the Phase II upgrade of the on-detector electronic calibration board for the ATLAS Liquid Argon (LAr) calorimeter. The selected candidate will be involved in the development, testing, finalization, production, and qualification of the future LAr calibration boards. Additionally, depending on the candidate's profile and interests, there is an opportunity to allocate a portion of their time to participate in a physics study using Run 3 LHC data. The study may focus on areas of interest such as Higgs properties and di-Higgs searches, precision measurements in the SM EW sectors, or BSM searches with an Effective Field Theory approach.
Situated approximately 50 km from CERN, LAPP is a dynamic laboratory with expertise in LAr calorimetry, data acquisition, and online software. The ATLAS LAPP group is currently engaged in LAr operations, the development of LAr Calibration Boards, and timing distribution system boards (LATOURNETT) for the LAr electronics Phase-II upgrade. The group is responsible for the development of the LAr Phase-II online software infrastructure.
The successful candidate will have completed his PhD thesis at the most 3 years ago. The selection process is scheduled before summer, and the appointed postdoctoral researcher is expected to commence on September 1st, 2024, for a two-year term.
