Job description:
The experimental high energy physics division at IFIC invites applications for an industrial design engineer position for particle physics instrumentation R&D.

IFIC is a joint center of the Spanish Research Council (CSIC) and the University of Valencia devoted to research in Nuclear, Particle and Astroparticle Physics, both experiment and theory, and applications to Medical Physics and other fields of Science and Technology.

We are looking for candidates to join our research efforts in the framework of laser instrumentation development within the lectureship program in advanced sensor materials for the aforementioned projects.

The successful applicant will be in charge of the design and development of a full TPA-TCT laser system, from early R&D stages until its final realization, in cooperation with our industrial partners.

Applicants must have an engineering degree in industrial design or similar. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in the field and solid knowledge in CAD 3D modeling. The duration of the contract is for three years, extendable one additional year. The position will be located in Valencia (Spain), with possible trips to major European labs such as CERN and DESY for detector testing campaigns and collaboration meetings.

Please send your application, including PDF attachments with a CV and a statement of research interests to the contact below.

The position will remain open until filled.
