The Centre for High Energy Physics (CHEP) of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) carries out research in many frontier areas of particle physics, quantum field theory, mathematical physics, string theory and lattice gauge theory. The present faculty consists of fourteen permanent members (http://chep.iisc.ac.in).
CHEP, IISc invites applications for faculty in theoretical and experimental areas of high energy physics, particle phenomenology, astroparticle physics, quantum field theory, quantum gravity, string theory and lattice gauge theory. The applicant should have an outstanding publication record in high impact refereed journals and should have completed at least three years of post-doctoral research.
The candidate must demonstrate that he or she has the ability to carry out independent research and lead a group of students and post-doctoral fellows. The successful candidate would have to teach at all levels of the Institute's teaching programs and is expected to attract external funding.
The position is open to both Indian and foreign nationals*. Preference is given to people coming from disadvantaged social backgrounds.
