Job description:
The University of Glasgow is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant/Associate on the ATLAS experiment within the School of Physics & Astronomy to contribute to/make a leading contribution to ATLAS data analysis working in collaboration with Dr Jay Howarth in the field of Quantum Information (QI) at Hadron Colliders. The role will involve searches for Bell Operator violation in events containing top quarks or Higgs bosons as well as studies involving other QI phenomena such as Quantum Discord and Quantum Tomography. The successful candidate will additionally support the group’s responsibilities in the ATLAS experiment.
 
To be considered for an appointment at Grade 7, you must be able to evidence the criteria listed in the job description (click "job details" when searching for the vacancy reference). You must also have, or be about to obtain, a Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 12 (PhD) or alternatively possess the equivalent in professional qualifications and experience, with experience of personal development in a similar or related role(s).

Salary will be Grade 6/7, (£32,332 - £36,024 Grade 6) / (£39,347 - £44,263 Grade 7) per annum.

This post is full time, and has funding for up to 2.5 years, with very good prospects to extend beyond this time.
