Job description:
The LHCb group at ELTE, located in Budapest, invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher in experimental high energy physics. The successful candidate will join the Lendulet group led by Dr. Racha Cheaib, the recipient of the 2024 Lendulet grant supported by the Momentum Program of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

Our LHCb physics program includes searches for physics beyond the Standard Model, in particular Lepton Flavour University Violation studies in the baryonic sector. We also contribute to the calorimeter upgrade (PicoCal) and play a critical role in testing different photomultiplier tube configurations to be used for the upgrade of the LHCb calorimeter in the HL-LHC era.

The successful candidate is expected to take a leading role in LFUV analysis, specifically measurements of semitauonic Lambda decays with Run 3 data of the LHCb experiment.

Long term visits (> 1 month) to CERN are also possible.

The required qualifications for the position are a Ph.D. in Particle Physics and experience with data analysis collaborative work. Strong technical skills (C++, Python, LHCb software) are an important asset.

To apply, please submit a CV, research statement, and three letters of recommendation to rcheaib@cern.ch.

Application open untill filled.
Potential Start date: March 1, 2024
