Job description:
The Department of Basic Sciences at the Faculty of Science, University of Bío-Bío in Chillán, Chile, is pleased to invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Physics, specializing in Cosmology, Particle Physics, or Gravity. Position Details:

Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field.
- A demonstrated record of research excellence, with strong potential for impactful contributions in the fields of Cosmology, Particle Physics, or Gravity.
- Proven teaching experience at the university level, with the ability to contribute to both undergraduate and graduate courses.
- Proficiency in Spanish is required, as teaching and administrative duties will be conducted in this language.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a cutting-edge research program with a significant impact on the field.
- Secure external funding to support research activities.
- Engage in teaching responsibilities at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Actively participate in the university’s doctoral program in Physics.
Compensation:
- The starting salary is approximately US $30,000 per year, with adjustments based on experience and qualifications. This salary is designed to support a family comfortably in Chile.
- Additional funding opportunities, such as the national Fondecyt regular project, offer further salary enhancements.
