Job description:
The Institute of Modern Physics(IMP), Lanzhou, China, invites application for a postdoctoral position in nucleon structure group to begin in fall 2025 (flexible starting date).

The successful candidate will play a key role in one or both of the following projects:
  1. Data analysis for the BESIII experiment: You will primarily analyze electron-positron collision data to investigate the time-like electromagnetic form factors of baryons or explore other related topics of interest.
  2. Detector R&D for the Electron Ion Collider in China (EicC): You will contribute to the development of the electromagnetic calorimeter (EMC), including designing and constructing the EMC prototype, as well as advancing new EMC technologies such as dual-readout calorimeters.
The appointment is initially for two years, with the potential for a one-year extension contingent on performance and funding availability. Applicants must either hold a PhD or be on track to complete their PhD before the start date. We offer:
  • A competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance and housing subsidies.
  • Generous travel funding to support attendance at domestic and international conferences and collaborative opportunities.
  • Assistance in applying for the CAS Postdoctoral Fellowship, which provides additional benefits.
Outstanding candidates may also be considered for promotion to a junior position upon successful completion of their postdoctoral term. In addition, exceptional candidates may be considered for a tenure-track faculty position and will have the opportunity to apply for special funding programs.

Applicants should demonstrate strong research accomplishments and have experience in experimental hadron physics or related fields. Interested candidates are invited to submit the following materials to dxlin@impcas.ac.cn:
  1. A curriculum vitae (CV),
  2. A research statement, and
  3. A publication list.
Additionally, please arrange for three reference letters to be sent directly to dxlin@impcas.ac.cn
