Job description:
The LHCb Data Analysis Group at Vilnius University is looking for two PhD candidates to work on the Pentaquark Search using LHCb Run 3 data. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of cutting-edge research in high-energy physics, contributing to one of the most intriguing topics in particle physics today.

About the Position

The successful candidates will join the Institute of Photonics and Nanotechnology at Vilnius University, working within the LHCb Vilnius group, which is part of the Lithuanian Consortium for Particle Physics. The group specializes in LHCb data analysis and offers a dynamic research environment with access to resources available at CERN.

Eligibility Criteria
• A Master’s degree (MSc) in Physics or a closely related field (or expected completion before the start date).
• Strong background in particle or nuclear physics.
• Proficiency in computer programming (Python, C++, ROOT, or equivalent).
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Funding & Benefits
• Fully funded PhD: Tuition fees covered for 4 years.
Tax-free scholarship:
• €15,960 per annum (Year 1).
• €18,480 per annum (Years 2-4).
Additional financial support for travel expenses.
Part-time employment as a junior researcher to further enhance experience and financial stability.
International candidates: Non-EU/EEA applicants will need to apply for a student visa before admission.
