Job description:
Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHEP, CAS) is seeking candidates for 2 postdoctoral positions working on the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) Experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
The IHEP group is actively involved in numerous physics analyses within CMS including studies of the Higgs boson and Top quark, searches for physics beyond the standard model, and measurements of Standard Model processes. The group has contributed significantly to CMS in several areas of the construction, upgrade and will continue its commitments in the Endcap Calorimeter upgrade and L1 trigger upgrade projects.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in experimental particle physics, excellent data analysis, computing and programming skills and the ability to carry out an independent research program. Successful candidates are expected to play major roles in the analyses of Top quark or Higgs boson physics and searches for new physics, and strengthen our activities within the CMS experiment.
The successful applicant could be based at CERN with the expectation of trips between CERN and IHEP Beijing. The position is for an initial period of two years, with the potential for extension considered on a yearly basis thereafter. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Interested candidates should submit their application, including curriculum vitae with publication list and a statement of research interests, and arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent directly to Dr. Hongbo Liao at hongbo.liao@cern.ch
The selection of candidates for interviews will begin immediately and will continue until the positions are filled.
