The nature of mesons in the 0 ++ nonet is studied. In particular we discuss the parameterization of the I = 0 S wave in terms of the S ∗ and possible ϵ mesons. The S ∗ parameters are determined by fitting to π − π + and K − K + production data. In particular we find ( g K K S ∗ g ππ S ∗ ) 2 = 4.0 ± 0.6 .- MESON: MULTIPLET
