Abstract: (APS)
The polarization of the muon in the decay KL0→π−μ+νμ (Kμ3) was measured as a function of q2, the four-momentum transferred to the lepton pair, by using a precession polarimeter with a double-armed spectrometer at the Bevatron. A sample of 207 260 events collected with a vertical precession field was used to determine the Kμ3 form factor ξ(q2), assuming Imξ(q2) = 0.0. If one parametrizes the q2 dependence of ξ by ξ(q2) = ξ(0)+Λq2mπ2, then ξ(0) = 0.178±0.105−3.80Λ. A sample of 55 604 events collected with a horizontal precession field was used to determine Imξ(q2). If one assumes that Imξ(q2) has no dependence on q2, then Imξ(0) = 0.35±0.30+0.21Reξ(0).
