Abstract:
The effect of dipole faults and closed orbit correction on the beam energy is studied both analytically and numerically using the ELEGANT code. Motivated by top-off safety analysis, we consider the case of single dipole faults and study how la rge an error can be compensated by the closed orbit correction system before the beam is lost.
