Abstract: (Elsevier)

A cylindrical MWPC with two-dimensional read-out for fission fragment angular distribution measurements is presented. The detector has a solid angle of 33% of 4 π and a time resolution of 8.5 ns fwhm. The electronics is capable of handling countrates in excess of 100 kHz.
